Rockport Reservoir

Rockport Reservoir is a popular destination for fishing, water skiing, swimming and sailing. Water skiing is good early morning and dusk and afternoons present good sailing breezes. Five campgrounds offer both developed and primitive camping in a variety of settings. Ice fishing is popular during the winter.

Strawberry Reservoir

Strawberry Reservoir is a huge body of water nestled high in the Uintah mountains 1 hour east of Heber. It offers great opportunities for boating and fishing. There are a few recreation complexes around the lake offering camping, picnicking, and marina services. Strawberry is favorite among locals to fish big rainbow lunkers. In winter, Strawberry is a great place to ice fish as the entire lake freezes over. Snowmobilers love it too for winter recreation.

Great Salt Lake

Great Salt Lake

The Great Salt Lake is, of course, quite famous and much associated with Salt Lake City. It is approximately 75 miles long and 40 miles wide.

Despite its high name-recognition, it is really not much used for boating. The high salt content is hard on power boats and swimmers, and there are no fish in the lake.
