5 EXPERT TIPS FOR WORRY-FREE UTAH SKI VACATION

5 EXPERT TIPS FOR WORRY-FREE UTAH SKI VACATION

by: Nelson Torres local ski expert/lodging agent

1) Choose the right resort for your ability level:
If you enjoy moguls, Park City Mountain Resort is not for you. Beginners and lounging skiers have a much better time at PCMR. Mogul lovers and skiers who LOVE aggressively steep runs, choose Snowbird or Alta. Remember, Alta is for skiers only (no snowboarding allowed). Deer Valley is a great resort for days when we get dumped on because less people are on the mountain disrupting the powder.

2) Choose Ski Lodging Carefully. The Right Home for Right Location:
There are many vacation rental companies, hotels, and condo complexes eager for your business. Not everyone is convenient to the resorts, and may not have expert vacation planners to help guide you in choosing the best property to suit your needs. Truth is, many lodging specialists have no ski experience at all. Gaining expert advice and knowledgeable feedback from expert skiers who know the area and every run at every resort will tremendously help ensure your ski trip is a success and not a nightmare. Always ask your vacation lodging agent if they are skiers. Certain resorts offer amenities others dont. Some inexperienced lodging agents will tell you its just a short walking distance away from the resort when its actually a 5 minute bus ride away. This inconvenience could ruin your entire vacation.

3) Know Which Resorts Provide What:
Most snow? Most vertical drop? Most friendly beginner runs? Most aggressive steep runs? Ski in/out? Snowbird offers heli-skiing for all those back-country risk-takers. Knowing the answers to these important questions can make or break your entire ski experience in Utah. Be sure to ask these important questions to your lodging agent when reserving your ski vacation property. If they cant answer them, seek out a company who can.

4) Explore Park Citys Newest Terrain Parks:
Who has the best terrain Parks? Park City has 4 of the best Utah terrain parks for beginner, intermediate, and expert athletes. They spent $4 million last year to build and improve their terrain parks size, features, snow making, and grooming. One-half of Park Citys budget is used to improve their terrain parks. Deer Valley only caters to skiers.

5) Best Groomed Resort:
